June 2026 Meeting

Greetings Brothers and Sisters,

Welcome to the summary of our June Member’s Meeting.

Both meetings were held as scheduled on June 10th with our Swing Shift Meeting beginning at 13:05 and our Day Shift Meeting slightly behind schedule at 16:17.

For those who have not been able to attend a meeting or are unfamiliar with how a meeting operates, all our meetings operate under Robert’s Rules of Order, and we follow our Guide to a Well-Conducted Meeting. Click the button below to read more about this guide.

We start with The Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a roll call of Officers. All Officers were in attendance.

We did have a visitor, Mr. Mark Larson of Larson, Larson & Dauer, in attendance. https://larsondauer.com/ With over 40 years of experience winning cases and more than half a BILLION DOLLARS for their clients.  Whether it is workers’ compensation, employment law or personal Injury, the attorneys at Larson, Larson & Dauer have the knowledge and experience to assist all individuals. They have made it their goal and business practice to keep their caseload manageable, so that they can give each client the individualized attention that they need.  This includes helping them receive the sort of compensation for which they are entitled. It also means providing options for them to locate compensation through other sources such as Social Security and State Disability. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mark Larson.

Next, we have verification of quorums at both meetings.

Brother Aaron, our Recording Secretary, read the Minutes of our last meeting, which were accepted as read and become the permanent record of Locals actions for all future reference to the last meeting.

We had the report of the Secretary-Treasurer.

For the bills, the membership in attendance authorized payments for the food and labor to provide food for our members in attendance.

For communications, we received a letter notification for the upcoming W3 Guide Dogs of America charity events in Las Vagas coming in November.

Reports from the Officers

For reports from the executive board, I, President, Brother Derrick Hernandez reported on the Guide Dogs of America Charity Golf Tournament we attended. It was an amazing event with an incredible turnout in support for the Guide Dogs where including our Local’s Donation, the event earned a total of over $35,000 for the GDoA. On top of the actual tournament, there was also a Putting Contest, there was a Long Drive Contest, and there was a Closest to the Pin Contest. I was happy to report that our Local brought their best. Both teams played phenomenal with the teams consisting of…

  • Michael MacInnes

  • Arnold Sok

  • Timothy Simon

  • Michael Gordon

  • Derrick Hernandez

  • Aaron Ashley

  • Michael Lorenz

  • Brett Martin

Our team represented our Local with honors winning the tournament with a score of 66 as well as sweeping every mini contest mentioned above. A Huge thank you to you, the membership, for allowing us to opportunity to represent as well as for approving our Local’s contribution as a primary sponsor of the event. Below you will find photos of the event.

Brother Timothy Simon (VP) gave his report on his recent travels to the W3 Training facility where he attended Leadership 2.

Reports from the Business Representatives

Our Business Rep, Brother Victor (Vic) Rudder was unable to attend the meeting as he was away attending a family emergency. He did however leave a written report addressing grievances as well as other activities he has been completing over the last month in representing the membership.

Good and Welfare

For good and welfare, brother Alonzo Delgado took it upon himself to try and build more solidarity in the membership and to create more incentive to be involved with our Union, to have Challenge Coins made. He presented several mock-ups as well as prototype coins that he donated to be raffled off at the meeting. The creation of these coins would lead to a motion under business to purchase a quantity of coins that would be raffled off to members as they earn them through being involved with our Local. We’d like to thank Alonzo for his hard work and initiative in this idea.

The next area of discussion in good and welfare also revolves around solidarity and working together. Unfortunately, it’s about the lack there of. We have been seeing a big uptick in reports of member-on-member issues within our Local and more specifically at Lockheed Martin. These issues range from childish drama and gossip to outright harassment and bullying. These issues need to stop, and we need to start showing more respect for each other when we are at work. We don’t all have to like each other and be best of friends but we need to have some professionalism. High School, Middle School, and Elementary School are in the past. All the games that were played there need to stay there. Keep it professional and stop with these issues before things end up escalating to the point where people are quitting or being terminated. If you are someone being harassed, please contact either your Area Steward, Chief Steward, Myself, or Business Rep. These actions are unacceptable and need to stop.

Business

Under business we had a few items to attend too as listed below…

  1. Callout for the month of July and August. (Motion was Carried)

  2. Purchasing of Challenge Coins. (Motion was Carried)

As a reminder, during business, as listed in the Guide, linked above, this is the procedure for such business…

  • PROCEDURE: The President calls for motions on any new business. The Recording Secretary reports items which have been referred to “new business” from earlier in the meeting.

    • ACTION FROM FLOOR:

      • MOTION:

  1. To take action, or

  2. To postpone action to another meeting, or

  3. To refer to the Executive Board or to some other committee for action or recommendation.

For those who wish to learn more about motions, click the button below.

With all business being addressed, we had a motion to adjourn each meeting with the 1st meeting ending at 13:46 and the 2nd at 17:01 after a moment of silence.

And as a Reminder, July’s Meeting is cancelled and we will reconvene in August.

If you managed to read all of this please let us know down in the comments. Comment Brisket if you want me to cook at our next meeting. \( ‘^’ )/

In Solidarity,

See you at our next meeting.
